Özet

Bu bölümde Otizm Spektrum Bozukluğu (OSB) olan öğrencilerin bütünleştirme ortamlarına etkili katılımını destekleyen temel yaklaşımlar ele alınmıştır. OSB’nin tanımı, yaygınlığı, tanı süreci ile öğrencilerin sosyal iletişim, etkileşim, davranış, duyusal işlemleme ve öğrenme alanlarındaki bireysel özellikleri açıklanmıştır. Bütünleştirmenin yalnızca öğrencinin genel eğitim sınıfına yerleştirilmesi anlamına gelmediği; akademik, sosyal ve duygusal katılımın sağlanmasını amaçlayan kapsamlı bir eğitim anlayışı olduğu vurgulanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda Türkiye’deki yasal düzenlemeler, Bireyselleştirilmiş Eğitim Programı (BEP), destek eğitim hizmetleri ve okul-aile iş birliğinin önemi değerlendirilmiştir. Bölümde ayrıca OSB’li öğrencilerin gereksinimlerine yönelik fiziksel ve duyusal düzenlemeler, sosyal ve iletişim becerilerini destekleyen uygulamalar, akademik ve öğretimsel uyarlamalar ile olumlu davranışsal destekler incelenmiştir. Etkili bütünleştirme uygulamalarının öğrencinin bireysel özelliklerinin dikkate alınmasına, öğretimin sistematik biçimde uyarlanmasına, kanıta dayalı uygulamaların kullanılmasına ve öğretmen, aile ile ilgili uzmanlar arasında sürdürülebilir iş birliği kurulmasına bağlı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
