This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the anatomy, biomechanics and instability of the acromioclavicular (AC) joint, supported by current literature. The static and dynamic stabilizers of the AC joint are described in detail, and their roles in maintaining shoulder stability are thoroughly explained. Injury types, diagnostic methods and the Rockwood classification system are systematically presented, and treatment approaches are evaluated based on both acute and chronic cases. The chapter offers an in-depth analysis of AC joint biomechanics, and presents an integrated perspective on the diagnosis, classification and management of AC joint instability.
