Geçmişten Günümüze Kan Transfüzyonları; 350 Yılı Aşan Bir Hikaye
Özet
Günümüzde yapılan en yaygın tıbbi işlemlerden biri olan kan transfüzyonunun resmi kayıtlara geçen ilk denemeleri yaklaşık 350 yıl önce başlamıştır. İnsandan insana yapılan ilk başarılı kan transfüzyonu ;de James Blundell tarafından gerçekleştirilmiştir. Karl Landsteiner tarafından 1901 yılında kan gruplarının keşfi ile yeni bir süreç başlamıştır. Kanın saklanması için üretilen çözümler 1921 yılında Londra'da ilk kan bankasının kurulmasına olanak sağlamıştır. Ülkemizde ilk kan transfüzyonu ise 1938'de Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi’nde gerçekleştirilmiştir. 1957'de ise İstanbul ve Ankara'da Kızılay Kan Merkezleri açılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, kan transfüzyonları tarihsel gelişimi, yapılan keşifler ve teknolojinin ilerlemesiyle günümüzdeki modern ve sistematik halini almıştır.
The first officially recorded attempts of blood transfusion, one of the most common medical procedures performed today, started about 350 years ago. The first successful human-to-human blood transfusion was performed by James Blundell in 1818. A new process started with the discovery of blood groups by Karl Landsteiner in 1901. The solutions produced for the storage of blood enabled the establishment of the first blood bank in London in 1921. The first blood transfusion in our country was performed at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in 1938. In 1957, Kızılay Blood Centres were opened in Istanbul and Ankara. As a result, blood transfusions have taken their current modern and systematic form with the historical development, discoveries and advancement of technology.
