Öğretmen Adaylarının Ters Yüz Öğrenmeye İlişkin Görüşleri: Kimya-Iı Dersi Örneği
Özet
Bu çalışma, 2020-2021 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Manisa Celal Bayar Üniversitesi Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği 1. sınıfında öğrenim gören 24 öğretmen adayı ile 13 hafta (52 saat) boyunca yürütülen ve Kimya-II dersinde uygulanan "FC@Chem" adlı ters yüz öğrenme modeline ilişkin öğrenci görüşlerini belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Yakınsayan paralel karma yöntem deseni kullanılan araştırmada nicel veriler "Ters Yüz Öğrenme Görüşleri Anketi", nitel veriler ise "Ters Yüz Öğrenme Uygulamasına Yönelik Görüş Formu" aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Süreç boyunca öğrenciler eş zamansız (asenkron) olarak ders videolarını izleyip çevrim içi hazır bulunuşluk testlerini tamamlamış, eş zamanlı (senkron) derslerde ise Web 2.0 araçları, simülasyonlar, kavram haritaları ve grup çalışmaları gibi aktif öğrenme etkinliklerine katılmışlardır. Araştırma sonuçları, öğretmen adaylarının ters yüz öğrenme modeline, video içeriklerine ve ders uygulamalarına yönelik oldukça olumlu görüşlere sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Dönem başında yöntemi ilk kez tecrübe edecek olmaktan ötürü şaşkınlık, endişe ve korku hissettiklerini belirten katılımcılar, uygulama sürecinde bu olumsuz duyguların yerini eğlenceli ve verimli bir öğrenme deneyimine bıraktığını ifade etmişlerdir. Öğretmen adayları modelin kendi hızlarında öğrenme imkânı sunduğunu, ders başarısı ve motivasyonu artırdığını, sorumluluk bilincini geliştirdiğini, ders içi aktif katılımı teşvik ettiğini, öğretim elemanı ve akranlar arası etkileşimi önemli ölçüde güçlendirdiğini vurgulamışlardır.
This study aims to determine the views of pre-service teachers regarding the flipped learning model named "FC@Chem" applied in the Chemistry-II course, conducted with 24 first-year pre-service science teachers at Manisa Celal Bayar University over 13 weeks (52 hours) during the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. In the research using a convergent parallel mixed-methods design, quantitative data were collected via the "Flipped Learning Perceptions Questionnaire" and qualitative data via the "Flipped Learning Perception Form". Throughout the process, students watched asynchronously prepared lesson videos and completed online readiness tests, while participating in active learning activities such as Web 2.0 tools, simulations, concept maps, and group work during synchronous classes. The research results indicate that pre-service teachers held highly positive opinions toward the flipped learning model, video content, and classroom practices. Participants, who noted feeling surprise, anxiety, and fear at the beginning of the semester due to experiencing the method for the first time, expressed that these negative emotions were replaced by an enjoyable and productive learning experience as the implementation progressed. The pre-service teachers emphasized that the model provided opportunities to learn at their own pace, increased academic success and motivation, developed a sense of responsibility, encouraged active in-class participation, and significantly strengthened interaction between instructors and peers.
