The COVID-19 pandemic, which emerged in late 2019 and affected Turkey as of March 2020, exposed children and families to intense stress due to curfews, social isolation measures, and the transition from face-to-face to distance education. Children, who form a sensitive group and were forced to stay at home for long periods, experienced various psychosocial issues such as anxiety, fear, anger, distractibility, irritability, and excessive dependence due to movement restrictions and uncertainties in the process. Resilience is defined as the ability to adapt positively to traumatic or severe conditions and to recover quickly; it is not an innate trait, but a process that can be developed when encountering challenging situations. Children's resilience levels and responses in crisis situations depend on the frequency of exposure to the event, pre-trauma mental well-being, caregivers' attitudes, and positive, consistent relationships established with adults around them. Sensitive and effective communication with children plays a vital role in eliminating anxiety and the feeling of uncertainty in their minds. Developing resilience through preventive efforts in early childhood before problems crystallize strengthens children against adverse conditions. In this scope, educating families, integrating resilience skills into the educational curriculum, and having parents, educators, and health professionals assume shared responsibility are of great importance.
