Fonksiyonel Yem Kaynaklarının In Vivo Sindirim Kinetiği, Metabolik Profil ve Hayvan Sağlığı Üzerine Etkileri
Özet
Dünya nüfusundaki hızlı artış, doğal kaynaklar üzerindeki baskıyı artırmakta ve gelecekte yeterli gıdaya erişimi önemli bir sorun hâline getirmektedir. Birleşmiş Milletler verilerine göre dünya nüfusunun 2050 yılında 9,8 milyarı aşması beklenirken, hayvansal kökenli gıdalara olan talebin de önemli ölçüde artacağı öngörülmektedir. Bunun yanında, insan ve hayvan beslenmesinde kullanılan mısır, buğday ve soya gibi temel yem hammaddelerine yönelik rekabet sürdürülebilir hayvansal üretim açısından yeni yaklaşımlara duyulan ihtiyacı artırmaktadır. Bu gelişmeler doğrultusunda hayvan besleme bilimi, yalnızca hayvanların besin maddesi gereksinimlerinin karşılanmasına değil, aynı zamanda sağlık, bağışıklık, sindirim sistemi ve verim özelliklerinin desteklenmesine yönelik fonksiyonel besleme uygulamalarına da yönelmiştir. Yem katkı maddeleri ve fonksiyonel yem bileşenleri, bu amaçlarla uzun yıllardır kullanılmakta ve hayvansal üretimde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Özellikle antibiyotik direncinin artmasıyla birlikte, hayvan sağlığını ve performansını destekleyen alternatif katkı maddelerine yönelik araştırmalar hız kazanmıştır. Ancak bu maddelerin etkinliği, katkının türü ve düzeyi, hayvan türü ve besleme koşullarına bağlı olarak değişebildiğinden, güvenli ve etkin kullanım düzeylerinin belirlenmesine yönelik bilimsel çalışmalara ihtiyaç devam etmektedir.
