Tıbbi ve Aromatik Bitkilerin Hayvan Beslemede Fonksiyonel Rolü: Biyoaktif Bileşikler, Sindirim ve Metabolik Etkiler

Özet

Hayvansal üretimde verimliliğin artırılması ve antibiyotikli büyütme faktörlerinin kullanımının sınırlandırılması, doğal kaynaklı yem katkılarına olan ilgiyi artırmıştır. Bu nedenle tıbbi ve aromatik bitkiler, içerdikleri fenolik bileşikler, flavonoidler, tanenler, terpenoidler ve uçucu yağlar nedeniyle hayvan beslemede önemli bir alternatif olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Kekik, adaçayı, biberiye, nane, sarımsak, rezene ve çörek otu gibi bitkiler; tür, doz ve kullanım şekline bağlı olarak hayvanların sindirim sistemi, bağışıklık durumu ve metabolik süreçleri üzerinde farklı etkiler gösterebilmektedir. Bu bileşiklerin yem tüketimi, sindirim enzimi aktivitesi, rumen fermantasyonu ve bağırsak mikrobiyotası üzerindeki etkileri, besin maddelerinden yararlanmanın iyileştirilmesine katkı sağlayabilir. Bunun yanında antioksidan, antimikrobiyal ve antiinflamatuvar özellikleri sayesinde hayvan sağlığının desteklenmesinde rol oynayabilirler. Örneğin kekik uçucu yağının bazı patojen bakteriler üzerinde baskılayıcı etkisi olduğu, sarımsağın ise in vitro metan üretimini azaltabildiği bildirilmiştir. Rumen fermantasyonunun düzenlenmesi ve azot kullanım etkinliğinin artırılması yoluyla metan oluşumu ve azot kayıplarının azaltılması da çevresel açıdan önemli bir potansiyel taşımaktadır. Bu bölümde tıbbi ve aromatik bitkilerin hayvan beslemede kullanım şekilleri ile biyoaktif bileşiklerin sindirim, metabolizma ve hayvan sağlığı üzerindeki etkileri ele alınmıştır. Bununla birlikte, elde edilen sonuçların bitki türü, etken madde içeriği, kullanım şekli ve dozuna göre değişebildiği vurgulanmış; güvenilir ve etkili kullanım için standardizasyon ve uygun doz belirlemenin önemi ortaya konulmuştur.
