Antibiyotikler ve Direnç
Özet
Veteriner hekimlikte antibiyotikler, bakteriyel enfeksiyonların tedavisinde temel ajanlar olup hayvan sağlığı ve üretim verimliliği açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Antibiyotikler etkilerini farklı mekanizmalar aracılığıyla göstermektedir. Antibiyotiklerin kullanımında hastalık etkeni, ilacın etki etmesi istenen bölge, uygulanacak hayvan türü ile ilaçların farmakokinetik ve farmakodinamik özellikleri dikkate alınmaktadır. Terapötik, profilaktik ve metafilaktik amaçlarla kullanılan antibiyotiklerin bilinçsiz bir şekilde kullanımı tedavi etkinliğini azaltabilmektedir. Bununla birlikte, antibiyotiklerin bilinçsiz ve uygunsuz kullanımı, yanlış dozlama, yetersiz tedavi süresi ve geniş spektrumlu ajanların gereksiz kullanımı direnç gelişmesine neden olmaktadır. Bu nedenle veteriner antibiyotiklerin akılcı kullanımı, doğru tanı, uygun ilaç seçimi ve düzenleyici kurallara uyum ile sağlanmalı, böylece hem hayvan hem de halk sağlığı korunmalıdır.
In veterinary medicine, antibiotics serve as cornerstone agents in managing bacterial infections, playing a vital role in sustaining both animal health and livestock productivity. These antimicrobials exert their therapeutic effects via distinct biochemical pathways. The clinical deployment of antibiotics necessitates a comprehensive evaluation of the underlying pathogen, the anatomical target site, the target species, and the drug’s specific pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) profiles. Although utilized across therapeutic, prophylactic, and metaphylactic paradigms, the indiscriminate administration of these agents can substantially undermine treatment efficacy. Moreover, improper usa characterized by erroneous dosing protocols, suboptimal treatment durations, and the unwarranted reliance on broad-spectrum drugs drives the proliferation of antimicrobial resistance. Therefore, the rational stewardship of veterinary antibiotics demands precise diagnosis, meticulous drug selection, and strict compliance with regulatory frameworks to effectively safeguard both animal well-being and public health.
