This chapter addresses the social, economic, and health-related problems of older women using a holistic approach; it analyzes the fundamental dynamics that affect their level of well-being. The gender inequalities women experience throughout their life cycle translate into cumulative disadvantages in old age, leading to multidimensional problems such as poverty, loneliness, inadequate access to health services, and increased caregiving burdens. In particular, limited retirement security, invisible care work, and weak social support mechanisms negatively affect the economic and psychosocial well-being of older women. These findings reveal that the aging process is not only biological but also a gender-based phenomenon. Assessments show that the well-being levels of older women are closely linked to gender inequalities. Lifelong caregiving responsibilities, precarious working conditions, and limited social support render women more vulnerable in old age. Therefore, improving the well-being of older women can only be achieved through comprehensive social policies centered on strengthening social participation, promoting intergenerational solidarity, and gender equality, rather than solely through economic improvements. Women's ability to lead dignified, secure, and active lives in old age should be considered an indicator of both individual well-being and social justice. In this regard, policy approaches that increase the visibility of older women, support their empowerment, and ensure their quality of life are indispensable elements of a modern social welfare state.
