Özet

Kadına yönelik fiziksel şiddet, en görünür şiddet türlerinden biri olup kadının beden bütünlüğüne zarar veren davranışları içerir. Yumruk atma, itme, dövme, yakma, silahla ya da kesici aletle saldırma gibi eylemlerle karşımıza çıkar. Fiziksel şiddet, sadece bireysel bir sorun değil; toplumsal, kültürel ve yapısal nedenleri olan çok boyutlu bir sorundur. Bu tür şiddet, kadının fiziksel sağlığını tehdit etmekle kalmaz; aynı zamanda ruhsal, sosyal ve ekonomik zararlar da doğurur. Türkiye’de yapılan araştırmalar, kadına yönelik fiziksel şiddetin yaygınlığını ve bunun eğitim düzeyi, medeni durum ve ekonomik bağımsızlık gibi değişkenlerle olan ilişkisini ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca, fiziksel şiddet diğer şiddet türleriyle sıklıkla iç içe geçmiştir. Kadına yönelik şiddetle mücadelede farkındalık artırma, yasal düzenlemeler, destek hizmetleri ve toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin sağlanması temel çözüm önerileri olarak sunulmaktadır.

Physical violence against woman is one of the most visible forms of gender-based violence. Encompassing behaviors that harm a woman’s bodily integrity, such as punching, pushing, beating, burning, and assaults with firearms or sharp objects. This type of violence is not merely an individual issue but a multifaceted problem rooted in social, cultural, and structural factors. Physical violence endangers women’s health while also resulting in psychological, social, and economic harm. Research conducted in Türkiye reveals the prevalence of such violence and its correlation with variables such as education level, marital status, and economic independence. Furthermore, physical violence often coexists with other forms of abuse, including psychological and economic violence. Efforts to combat violence against women should focus on raising public awareness, implementing comprehensive legal reforms, enhancing support services, and promoting gender equality as foundational strategies.
