Ortodontik Tedavi ile İlişkili Beyaz Nokta Lezyonları
Özet
Beyaz nokta lezyonları (White Spot Lesions – WSL), sabit ortodontik tedavi sırasında en sık görülen iatrojenik komplikasyonlardan biridir (1). Mine yüzeyinde opak beyaz alanlar şeklinde ortaya çıkan bu lezyonlar, mine dokusunun subyüzey demineralizasyonunun erken klinik göstergesidir (2). Ortodontik braketlerin ve diğer sabit apareylerin varlığı plak retansiyonunu artırarak mine yüzeyinde demineralizasyon riskini yükseltir (3). Ortodontik tedavi ile ilişkili beyaz nokta lezyonlarının oluşum mekanizmaları, prevalansı ve klinik yönetimi literatürde geniş şekilde incelenmiştir (4,5). Bu bölümde ortodontik tedavi ile ilişkili beyaz nokta lezyonlarının etiyolojisi, patogenezi, epidemiyolojisi, tanı yöntemleri, önleme stratejileri ve güncel tedavi yaklaşımları ele alınmaktadır.
