Cryotherapy and Electrocoterisation
Özet
Cryotherapy and electrosurgery are procedures frequently used in dermatological practice for the treatment of skin lesions in geriatric individuals. Frailty, overall health status, comorbidities, and cognitive impairment in elderly individuals negatively affect surgical tolerance, making minimally invasive procedures more feasible. Therefore, cryotherapy and electrosurgery are utilized in geriatric patients for the treatment of various benign, premalignant, and malignant lesions through different mechanisms of action. Both are fast, effective, and low-cost methods that can be administered on an outpatient basis in clinic settings. Each method has specific advantages and disadvantages for geriatric patients; therefore, the appropriate treatment option should be carefully selected for each patient.
