Cosmetic Procedures (Cosmetic Applications in Geriatric Population)
Özet
Aging is characterized by cosmetic changes in the skin, and while these changes may not directly threaten physical health, their psychological effects should not be overlooked. The impact on self-perception, self-esteem, and quality of life is particularly significant. With the increase in the elderly population, dissatisfaction with skin changes due to aging will attract more attention from physicians, increasing the need to address this issue. There are various methods available to delay skin aging. Dermatologists are the most qualified specialists to recommend these methods for aging individuals. Doctors, particularly dermatologists, geriatricians, gerontologists, and plastic surgeons, should remember that when advising elderly individuals on cosmetic and personal care products, these products are an important part of their lives. In this section, we aim to explore the cosmetic options applicable to the geriatric patient population and address the changes in the skin associated with aging, as well as the differences compared to other age groups.
