Dermatological Problems and Treatment in Long-Term/Nursing-Home Care

Özet

It is thought that every elderly has at least one dermatological problem. Although the exact epidemiology of dermatological diseases in long-term/nursing-home care is not known, each of the geriatric dermatoses can be encountered. Although healthcare professionals and nursing staff generally focus on pressure injuries and incontinence-related dermatitis, infectious diseases, and epidemics can also be significant problems in nursing homes. Since geriatric dermatoses will be discussed in detail in the following sections, this section will only detail pressure injuries.
