The Aging of the World’s Population

Özet

People aged 65 and over are currently referred to as the elderly population. Decreasing fertility and increasing life expectancy have led to population aging across the whole countries. It is predicted that the elderly population will approximately double by 2050. Old people tend to experience different conditions and diseases concurrently. The coming decade has been named “the Decade of Healthy Aging” and the World Health Organization determined actions for this purpose. This chapter aims to provide an overview of the world population aging.
