Strategic management represents a fundamental approach that enables organizations to adapt to rapidly changing and uncertain environments. Since the 1990s, the pace of transformation, the blurring of industry boundaries, and the rise of hypercompetition have made strategic thinking and action essential for firms across all sectors. Hypercompetition refers to an unstable environment that compels companies to constantly renew themselves, fostering a dynamic in which only those with high agility, effective price-quality balance, and sustainable positioning can survive. Although strategy has been defined differently in the literature by scholars such as Porter, Mintzberg, and Chandler, common ground emphasizes the determination of organizational goals, the design of short-, medium-, and long-term action plans, and the efficient allocation of resources. The process of strategic management is generally structured around three stages: analysis, formulation, and implementation. Beginning with the evaluation of internal capabilities and external conditions, this process continues with the formulation of appropriate strategies and their execution. By adopting this framework, organizations are better positioned to navigate environmental uncertainties, meet stakeholder expectations, and achieve long-term success. In this regard, strategic management offers both a theoretical foundation and a practical roadmap for organizations operating in turbulent and highly competitive markets.
