Evlat Edinmenin Çift İlişkisine Yansımaları: İlişkinin Öncesi ve Sonrası
Özet
Bu bölüm, çiftler arasındaki ilişkinin evlat edinme sürecinde karşılaştıkları duygusal zorluklar ve bu zorlukların ilişkilerine yansımasını incelemektedir. İnfertilite geçmişi, belirsiz yasal süreçler ve ebeveynlik rollerine uyum gibi özgün stres faktörlerinin çift uyumuna ve ilişki doyumuna olan olası etkisine yer verilmiştir. Ayrıca evlat edinen çiftlerin ebeveynliğe geçişte biyolojik ebeveynlerle benzeyen ve farklılaşan deneyimlerine değinmektedir. Özellikle “mükemmel ebeveyn olma” beklentisi, çocukla bağlanma ve uyum sürecinde yaşanan güçlükler ve kendilerinden gerçekçi olmayan yüksek beklentilerine ve bu durumun ayrıca psikolojik iyilik haline etkisini araştıran çalışmalara yer vermiştir. Bununla birlikte bireysel kırılganlıklar, stresli yaşam olayları ve baş etme süreçlerinin ilişki doyumu üzerindeki etkileri ve çiftlerin ebeveyn olmaya odaklanmadan dolayı birbirlerini ihmal edilmesinin olası sonuçları tartışılmıştır. Bu bağlamda, çiftlerin çoğu zaman ebeveynlik rollerine yoğunlaşırken duygusal yakınlık ve ilişki bakımını geri plana attıkları vurgulanmaktadır. Bölüm sonunda evlat edinen çiftlere yönelik bağlanma temelli ve bilişsel davranışçı klinik müdahalelere yer verilmektedir. Araştırma sonuçları ortak olarak çiftler arasındaki iletişim becerilerinin güçlendirilmesi ve ortak ebeveynlik anlayışının desteklenmesine ihtiyaç duydukları vurgulamaktadır. Ayrıca evlat edinen çiftlerin yalnız olmadıklarını hissetmek için en çok evlat edinen ailelerin olduğu sosyal destek grubuna ihtiyaç duyduklarına değinilmiştir. Bölüm çiftlerin ebeveyn ve çift olarak iyi bir ekip olmanın hem çift dinamiğine hem de ebeveyn olmaya olumlu etkisine değinmiştir.
