Resveratrol
Özet
Resveratrol is a naturally occurring polyphenolic compound found in plants and possesses a broad range of biological activities. Owing to the hydroxyl groups in its structure, it functions as a potent antioxidant, neutralising free radicals and reducing cellular damage and oxidative stress. This property has enabled its utilization across various industries, including health, pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, and biotechnology. The antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective, neuroprotective, and anticancer effects of resveratrol have been confirmed by numerous experimental and clinical studies. However, its low bioavailability and rapid metabolism limit its direct application. In recent years, nanoencapsulation and biotechnological production techniques have been developed, providing significant advancements in enhancing the stability and efficacy of resveratrol. With these attributes, resveratrol stands out as a multifunctional compound with high potential for both supporting human health and serving industrial applications. This study will address the chemical structure, bioavailability, health effects, and usage areas of resveratrol.
