Çocukluk Çağı Kanserlerinde Sık Görülen Semptomlar ve Hemşirelik Bakımı
Özet
Kanser tanısı alan çocuklarda, hastalığın kendisi ve uygulanan tedaviler sonucunda çeşitli semptomlar ortaya çıkmaktadır. Yorgunluk, bulantı-kusma, iştahsızlık, tat ve koku duyusunda değişiklikler, diyare, konstipasyon, ağız içi lezyonlar, enfeksiyon, ateş ve alopesi en sık görülen semptomlar arasında yer almaktadır. Bu semptomlar uygun yönetilmediğinde, çocuğun yaşam kalitesini, beslenme durumunu ve tedaviye uyumunu olumsuz yönde etkileyebilmektedir. Çocukluk çağı kanserlerinde pediatri hemşirelerinin temel amaçlarından biri, çocuğun iyilik halini ve yaşam kalitesini artırmaktır. Bu nedenle, semptomların erken dönemde tanılanması, düzenli olarak izlenmesi ve uygun hemşirelik girişimlerinin uygulanması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Pediatri hemşireleri, çocukla en fazla zaman geçiren sağlık profesyonelleri olarak semptom yönetiminde önemli bir role sahiptir. Kanser tanısı alan çocukların ve ailelerinin değerlendirilmesi, eğitimi, takibi ve fiziksel bakımın sürdürülmesi, pediatri hemşirelerinin temel sorumlulukları arasında yer almaktadır. Pediatri hemşireleri, çocukların yaşam kalitesini artırmak amacıyla semptom yönetimini ailelerle iş birliği içinde yürütmeli, onlara rehberlik etmeli ve ailenin bakım sürecine aktif katılımını sağlamalıdır. Bu kapsamda pediatri hemşireleri, ortaya çıkan semptomların farkında olmalı, çocuk ve ailesinin bireysel gereksinimlerini değerlendirerek kanıta dayalı hemşirelik uygulamaları doğrultusunda bakımı planlamalı, uygulamalı ve değerlendirmelidir.
In children diagnosed with cancer, various symptoms may occur as a result of the disease itself and the treatments applied. Fatigue, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, changes in taste and smell, diarrhea, constipation, oral lesions, infections, fever, and hair loss are among the most frequently observed symptoms. If these symptoms are not properly managed, they can negatively affect the child’s quality of life, nutritional status, and adherence to treatment. One of the primary goals of pediatric nurses in childhood cancers is to enhance the child’s well-being and quality of life. Therefore, early identification of symptoms, regular monitoring, and the implementation of appropriate nursing interventions are of great importance. Pediatric nurses play a crucial role in symptom management, as they are the healthcare professionals who spend the most time with the child. The assessment, education, follow-up, and provision of physical care for children diagnosed with cancer and their families are among the core responsibilities of pediatric nurses. Pediatric nurses should manage symptom control in collaboration with families to improve the quality of life of children, provide guidance, and ensure the active participation of families in the care process. In this context, pediatric nurses should be aware of the symptoms that may arise, evaluate the individual needs of the child and family, and plan, implement, and evaluate care based on evidence-based nursing practices.
