Özet

Kanatlı hayvan yetiştiriciliğinde uzun yıllardır yapılan araştırmalarla sağlanan genetik ilerlemeler sayesinde verim seviyesinin artışı, metabolik bozukluklara karşı hassasiyet ile bakım, besleme ve yetiştiricilik uygulamalarında zorluk ve problemleri de beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu problemler arasında en sık karşılaşılan olgulardan biri prolapsustur. Kanatlılarda prolapsus, önemli kloak hastalıklarından biridir ve kloakın ters dönerek üreme veya rektal organların bir kısmının vücut dışına çıkması ile karakterizedir. Ters dönen doku hayvanın vücudunun dışında ne kadar uzun süre kalırsa, bakteriyel enfeksiyonun yanı sıra diğer hayvanların gagalaması sebebiyle dokulara zarar verme riski de artar. Oluşan anomali genellikle kolay düzeltilebilir olsa da bazı durumlarda komplikasyonlar ortaya çıkabilir ve zamanında müdahale edilmezse prolapsus kalıcı hasara ve hayvanın ölümüne neden olabilir. Bu bölümde kanatlılarda kloakal prolapsusun oluşumu, metabolik etkileri, önleme yöntemleri ve koruyucu uygulamalar hakkında bilgi verilecektir.
