Özet

Bu bölüm, hayvan beslemede minerallerin yapısal, metabolik ve düzenleyici rollerini detaylı şekilde ele almaktadır. Kalsiyum, fosfor, magnezyum, sodyum, potasyum, klor ve kükürt gibi makro mineraller ile demir, iyot, çinko, bakır, kobalt, molibden, manganez, selenyum, krom ve flor gibi mikro (iz) minerallerin fizyolojik işlevleri, homeostaz mekanizmaları, emilim dinamikleri ve metabolik etkileşimleri sistematik olarak incelenmektedir. Bölüm, minerallerin iskelet gelişimi, elektrolit dengesi, asit-baz regülasyonu, nöromüsküler iletim, enzimatik aktivasyon, hormonal sentez, oksidatif savunma, bağışıklık sistemi ve üreme performansı üzerindeki kritik etkilerini vurgulamaktadır. Mineral biyoyararlanımını etkileyen faktörler; kimyasal form, hayvan türü ve yaşı, rasyon bileşimi, ruminal mikrobiyal aktivite, antagonistik etkileşimler ve antinutrisyonel faktörler ayrıntılı olarak anlatılmaktadır. Klinik tablolar ile toksisite riskleri ve çevresel yansımalar pratik besleme stratejileri açısından değerlendirilmektedir. Bölüm, temel bilimsel kavramları çiftlik hayvanlarının sağlık ve performans yönetimiyle bütünleştirerek uygulamalı bir perspektif sunmaktadır.
