Gıda Güvencesizliğinin Sürdürülebilir Beslenme ile İlişkisi

Özet

Küresel ölçekte süregelen nüfus artışının önümüzdeki yıllarda devam edeceği tahmin edilmektedir. Bu artışın, gıdaya olan talebi artırarak tarım sektörü üzerinde baskı oluşturacağı öngörülmektedir. Açlık, yetersiz beslenme ve obezite gibi sağlık sorunlarına yol açan gıda güvencesizliğiyle mücadele sürerken, gıda ve beslenme politikaları; erişilebilir, besin değeri yüksek ve iklimsel, ekonomik, sosyal, politik faktörlere bağlı olarak sürdürülebilir nitelikte yeterli ve dengeli beslenmenin teminine odaklanmaktadır. Gıda güvencesi, yalnızca bireylerin yeterli ve dengeli beslenmesini sağlamakla kalmayıp; çevresel, sosyal ve ekonomik boyutları da kapsayan hem mevcut hem de gelecek nesillerin ihtiyaçlarını karşılamaya yönelik sürdürülebilir gıda ve tarımla ilişkilidir. Sürdürülebilir diyetler ve gıda sistemleri, uzun vadede hem toplum sağlığını hem de çevrenin korunmasını vurgulamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, mevcut küresel gıda sisteminin sürdürülebilir ve dirençli bir yapıya kavuşturulması, beslenme ile ilintili bulaşıcı olmayan hastalık yükünün azaltılması ve küresel gıda güvencesinin sağlanması açısından kritik bir öneme sahiptir. Küresel politika ve stratejiler, gıda güvencesine ulaşmanın, yoksulluğu, yetersiz beslenmeyi ve diğer temel yoksunlukları sona erdirmenin, sağlık ve eğitimin iyileştirilmesinin, eşitsizliklerin azaltılmasının, iklim krizinin hafifletilmesinin ve doğal çevrenin korunmasının tüm sürdürülebilir kalkınma stratejilerinin temelini oluşturduğunu kabul etmektedir. Sürdürülebilir diyetlerin teşviki, kaynakların daha verimli kullanımı, gıdanın yeniden işlenmesi ve geri dönüştürülmesinde modern bilgi teknolojilerinin kullanımı gıda erişilebilirliğinin ve diyet kalitesinin arttırılmasında önemli bir rol oynayacaktır.
