Çocuklarda Gelişen Oklüzyon ve Koruyucu Ortodontik Uygulamaların Temeli

Özet

Maloklüzyon, yaşamı tehdit eden bir durum olmamasına rağmen, toplumlarda yüksek görülme sıklığı ve tedavi gereksinimi nedeniyle önemli bir halk sağlığı sorunu olarak kabul edilir. Çocukluk döneminde maloklüzyona yol açan etkenlerin tanımlanması, erken müdahale gereksiniminin belirlenmesinde büyük önem taşır. Süt ve karma dişlenme dönemlerinde oklüzyonun gelişimi, daimi dişlerin doğru konumlanması için temel oluşturur. Bu dönemde fizyolojik diastemaların, terminal düzlem ilişkilerinin değerlendirilmesi, ileride oluşabilecek maloklüzyonların önlenmesi açısından kritik rol oynar. Bu bölümde koruyucu ve durdurucu ortodonti kavramları, ebeveyn eğitimi, çürük kontrolü, yer tutucuların kullanımı, anormal frenulum ataçmanlarının yönetimi ve zararlı oral alışkanlıkların ortadan kaldırılması gibi uygulamalar üzerinden açıklanmıştır. Ayrıca parmak emme, dil itme, dudak emme ve ağızsolunumu gibi alışkanlıkların neden olduğu dentoalveoler bozukluklara karşı kullanılanapareyler, sürme rehberliği ve seri çekim yaklaşımları ele alınmıştır. Erken dönemde yapılan bazı uygulamalar, çocuklarda normal oklüzyonun gelişmesine katkı sağlamakta ve ileri yaşlarda kapsamlı ortodontik tedavi gereksinimini azaltmaktadır.
