Çocuklarda Obstrüktif Uyku Apnesi: Pedodontinin Erken Tanı ve Multidisipliner Yönetimdeki Stratejik Rolü
Özet
Bu bölüm, çocuklarda obstrüktif uyku apnesi (OUA) sendromunun etiyolojisi, klinik bulguları, tanısal yöntemleri ve pedodonti pratiği açısından önemini kapsamlı biçimde ele almaktadır. OUA’nınbüyüme, nörokognitif gelişim, davranışsal performans ve oral sağlık üzerindeki olumsuz etkiler ayrıntılı olarak tartışılmaktadır. Adeno-tonsiller hipertrofi, obezite ve kraniofasiyal anomaliler gibi başlıca risk faktörleri açıklanırken; pedodontik muayenede dikkat edilmesi gereken orofasiyal bulgular (dar maksilla, yüksek damak, artmış overjet, posterior çapraz kapanış, bruksizm) örneklerle tanımlanmaktadır. Bölümde ayrıca, hızlı maksiller ekspansiyon ve mandibulayı öne alan fonksiyonel apareylerin hava yolu genişliği ve apne-hipopne indeksi üzerindeki etkileri değerlendirilmektedir. Tanı sürecinde pedodontistin erken farkındalığının ve multidisipliner yaklaşımın önemi vurgulanmakta; KBB, ortodonti ve pediatri branşlarıyla koordinasyonun klinik başarının anahtarı olduğu belirtilmektedir. Bu yönüyle bölüm, çocuk hastalarda OUA’nın tanı ve tedavi sürecinde diş hekimlerine rehberlik eden, pratik uygulama önerileri içeren kapsamlı bir kaynak niteliği taşımaktadır.
