Yeni Nesil Tehdit: Elektronik Sigaranın Solunum Sistemi ve Çevre Üzerine Etkileri (Halk Sağlığı)
Özet
Elektronik sigaralar (e-sigara), özellikle gençler arasında hızla yaygınlaşan ve halk sağlığı açısından tartışmalı ürünlerdir. Dördüncü nesil pod sistemler nikotin tuzlarıyla bağımlılık riskini artırmakta, aromalar ise solunum epiteline toksik etki göstermektedir. Kısa vadede öksürük ve nefes darlığı; uzun vadede ise astımın kötüleşmesi, KOAH benzeri tablolar ve EVALI gibi ciddi akciğer hasarları bildirilmiştir. Ayrıca aerosol bileşenleri DNA hasarı ve inflamatuvar süreçlerle ilişkilidir. Çevresel açıdan da e-sigaralar plastik atık, ağır metal ve nikotin kalıntılarıyla ekosistemlere zarar vermekte; “çevre dostu” algısı bilimsel verilerle çelişmektedir. Sonuç olarak, e-sigaralar hem sağlık hem de çevre üzerinde önemli riskler taşımakta; daha sıkı düzenlemeler, üretici sorumluluğu ve güçlü halk sağlığı politikaları gerektirmektedir.
