Modern Achievements of Azerbaijan’s Diplomacy
Özet
The article describes the modern achievements of Azerbaijan diplomacy, Azerbaijan’s transformation into a leading state in the South Caucasus region, and the historical victories of Azerbaijan Republic. In 2020, it was noted that the victory of Azerbaijan in the ‘44 days’ war made an impression all over the world, strengthened the international image of our country and went down in history as the ‘victory of the century’. It is mentioned that, this victory is an important step towards the integration of the Turkic world and an important guarantee of the access of the Turkic world to the world through the ‘Zengezur Corridor’ project. It was noted that strategic alliance with Turkey, formalized through the Shusha Declaration, has led to deep cooperation in defense, economy, and culture. Azerbaijan is also a leading member of the Organization of Turkic States, enhancing its role in Turkic world integration. As a proof of the achievements of our diplomacy in the world in recent years, a number of international projects such as COP-29 and important meetings of world importance are held in Azerbaijan, which shows that the international reputation of our country is growing. Energy Diplomacy is a major pillar of Azerbaijan’s global influence. Strategic projects like the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor have connected Azerbaijani hydrocarbons to European markets, strengthening energy security and reducing dependency on Russia and Iran. The country now faces the dual challenge of maintaining hydrocarbon exports while transitioning to green energy. The article emphasized that Azerbaijan, which has become the leading state of the South Caucasus with its diplomatic achievements, will make even more important contributions to the development of relations between the Turkic states with its latest projects. Modern Azerbaijan’s diplomacy is marked by strategic balance, energy leadership, regional integration, and a growing role in global governance and climate action.
