Technological advancements and the resulting increase in transportation options have given rise to the concept of globalization. In particular, the Industrial Revolution and the application of steam engine systems in ships and trains have led to the re-examination of national borders. As a result, in a world order where borders are nonexistent and countries promote free trade, there is a need for global supply chain management. The global supply chain seeks solutions to problems arising from the complex networks of supply chains that span multiple countries. In this process, the global supply chain is constantly renewing and improving itself in harmony with developing technology and natural events. In short, the global supply chain, which began with the idea of gaining a competitive advantage by accessing more cost-effective raw materials and labor, continues to grow day by day. This study aims to contribute to the literature by defining the global supply chain, explaining its foundations, problems, and current trends. In this regard, the study uses a literature review method to present current sources in a comprehensive manner.
