Nanopharmaceuticals are a field that has revolutionized modern medicine by offering advantages such as drug delivery, controlled release and increased bioavailability of nanometer sized particles. These systems are classified as organic (liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles) and inorganic (gold, silver nanoparticles). Liposomes are effective in delivering drugs to target tissues, while polymeric nanoparticles provide long term release. Inorganic nanoparticles are used in theranostic (treatment and diagnosis) applications. Physical (homogenization, ultrasonication) and chemical (emulsification, sol-gel) methods are prominent in the production of nanopharmaceuticals. They have applications such as targeted drug delivery in cancer treatment, antimicrobial effect in infections and overcoming the blood-brain barrier in neurological diseases.  In the future, innovative approaches such as AI integration, biomimetic materials, and nano-robotic systems will further increase the potential of nanopharmaceuticals.
