Milk bleb is variously called milk blisters, plugged nipple pores, nipple blisters or subcutaneous milk. They usually occur when a small piece of skin blocks the milk duct opening and milk accumulates underneath. Mothers with milk bleb may experience intense pain during breastfeeding and are one of the most common reasons for starting formula feeding or stopping breastfeeding. Sucking, sucking and/or tongue problems, inadequate breastfeeding technique, non-sterile interventions, nipple traumas and a mother's diet rich in saturated fatty acids may pave the way for the formation of milk bleb. This case study aims to examine the causes, risk factors and management strategies of milk bleb during breastfeeding. It also provides insight into effective prevention and treatment methods.
