Healthy lifestyle behaviors in the postpartum period are critical factors influencing the initiation and continuation of breastfeeding. Imbalanced and unhealthy dietary habits, lack of physical activity, smoking, sleep disturbances, and deficiencies in psychosocial support can adversely affect milk production and lead to premature cessation of breastfeeding. Inadequate maintenance of healthy lifestyle behaviors, when compounded by maternal fatigue, stress, anxiety, and insufficient social support systems, may result in more complex challenges. A comprehensive approach is essential for helping mothers adopt healthy lifestyle habits during lactation. Counseling and education for breastfeeding mothers should address key areas such as nutrition, physical activity, the risks of smoking, sleep hygiene, stress management, and family support. Additionally, promoting correct breastfeeding techniques and frequent breastfeeding practices can enhance the initiation and sustainability of breastfeeding. Facilitating the adoption of healthy lifestyle behaviors in mothers plays a vital role in protecting their psychosocial well-being and strengthening their coping mechanisms against stress, thereby supporting a successful breastfeeding journey.
