Özet

Kitabın bu bölümünde, çalışma belleğinin öğrenme süreçlerindeki merkezi rolü ele alınmaktadır. Çalışma belleğinin, yalnızca bilgiyi geçici olarak saklayan pasif bir yapıdan öte, bilgiyi aktif olarak işleyen ve düzenleyen bir sistem olduğu vurgulanmaktadır. Bölümde, öğrenmenin bilişsel temelleri detaylandırılarak, bilginin algılanması, işlenmesi, depolanması ve geri çağrılması süreçleri açıklanmaktadır. Çalışma belleğinin dil, okuma, yazma ve matematik becerileri üzerindeki etkisi incelenmekte; kelime öğrenimi, cümle anlama, okuma sürecinde fonolojik döngü, merkezi yürütücü ve görsel-mekânsal alan gibi bileşenlerin işlevleri tartışılmaktadır. Son olarak, çalışma belleği kapasitesinin artırılmasına yönelik stratejiler ve eğitim ortamlarında uygulanabilecek müdahaleler sunulmaktadır.
