Çalışma Belleği Nedir?
Özet
Çalışma belleği, bilgiyi kısa süreliğine depolayan ve işleyen aktif bir bilişsel sistem olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Bu aktif sistem, dikkat, algı, kısa süreli bellek, yürütücü işlevler ve uzun süreli bellekle sürekli etkileşim halindedir. Çalışma belleği; dil, okuma, yazma, matematik gibi akademik becerilerde merkezi rol oynamaktadır. Sınırlı bir kapasiteye sahip olan çalışma belleği bireyler arasında da farklılıklar göstermektedir. Gelişimsel olarak ise çalışma belleği doğumdan itibaren gelişmeye başlamakta, çocukluk ile ergenlik boyunca önemli ölçüde gelişim göstermektedir. Bilgiyi organize etme, kodlama ve gerektiğinde bilgiyi uzun süreli bellekten geri getirme gibi işlemler çalışma belleğinin görevleri arasında yer almaktadır. Öğrenmenin merkezinde olduğu ifade edilen çalışma belleğinin dil, okuma, yazma, matematik gibi birçok alanla ilişkisi bulunmaktadır. Alanyazın incelemeleri, çalışma belleği kapasitesindeki yetersizliklerin de birçok gelişimsel, bilişsel, davranışsal ve zihinsel bozuklukla ilişkili olabileceğini göstermektedir.
