Ateş Ölçüm Yöntemleri
Özet
Çocuk hastaların muayenesinde ateş ölçümü ciddi bir öneme sahiptir ve birçok klinik kararda tek belirleyici olabilmektedir. Günümüzde ateş ölçüm yöntemleri dört parametre ile değerlendirilmekte ve ihtiyaca en uygun yanıtı veren ölçüm yöntemi ve termometre arayışı devam etmektedir. Ateş ölçüm yerlerinin birbirine olan üstünlüğüne dair çok sayıda çalışma vardır. Sıklıkla kullanılan ölçüm yerleri ağız, rektum, aksilla ve timpan membrandır. Son dönemde temporal arterden ateş ölçümü de yaygınlaşmaktadır. Çocuklarda farklı yaş grupları için daha geniş kapsamlı çalışmalara ihtiyaç olduğu aşikârdır. Ateş ölçümü için yıllar içinde farklı yöntem ve teknolojiler ile çeşitli termometreler geliştirilmiştir. Cam termometreler civa yerine uygun fiziksel özelliğe sahip sıvı içeren yeni formuyla kullanılmaya devam ederken, dijital ve kızılötesi termometreler de ateş ölçümünde oldukça yaygınlaşmıştır. Tüm bilimsel ve teknolojik gelişmelere rağmen ateş ölçümünde altın standart halen rektal ölçümdür.
