Aeromonas cinsi üç türe ayrılır: A. hydrophila, A. punctata ve A. liquefaciens. A. hydrophila ve A. veronii gibi türler, sucul ve karasal organizmalarda hastalıklara neden olabilir. Aeromonas enfeksiyonları insanlarda da görülebilir, özellikle bağışıklık sistemi baskılanmış bireylerde septisemiye yol açabilir. Tanı, genellikle kültür yöntemleri ve moleküler tekniklerle konur. Tedavi antibiyotiklerle yapılır, ancak direnç sorunları vardır. Enfeksiyon kontrolü için çevresel faktörlerin iyileştirilmesi önemlidir.

Aeromonas infections are caused by Gram-negative, motile bacilli from the Aeromonas genus. These bacteria are commonly associated with hemorrhagic septicemia in fish and have various species. The genus Aeromonas includes three main species: A. hydrophila, A. punctata, and A. liquefaciens. Among these, A. hydrophila and A. veronii are known to cause diseases in both aquatic and terrestrial organisms. Human Aeromonas infections, particularly in immunocompromised individuals, can lead to septicemia. Diagnosis typically involves culture methods and molecular techniques. Treatment is usually administered with antibiotics, although resistance issues exist. Environmental improvements are crucial for infection control.
