Omega-3
Özet
Omega-3 yağ asitleri, çocukların büyüme ve gelişiminde kritik öneme sahip olmakla beraber yetişkinlerde de birçok organ ve sistem sağlığı için elzemdir. α-linolenik asit ve anti inflamatuvar özelliğe sahip eikosanoidler ile DHA ve EPA gibi omega-3 yağ asitlerinin tüketiminin insan sağlığı üzerine olan etkilerinin incelendiği çok sayıdaki bilimsel araştırma bulguları, yağ asitlerinin özellikle kalp damar hastalıkları, yüksek tansiyon, psikiyatrik hastalıklar (Alzheimer hastalığından depresyona), romatizmal ve kemik hastalıkları, immün sistem hastalıkları, göz hastalıkları gibi birçok hastalığın önlenmesi ve tedavisinde pozitif etkilere sahip olduklarını göstermektedir. Üstelik bu olumlu etkileri ciddi bir yan etki olmadan basit ve doğal yolla besinlerle gerçekleştirmektedir. Halbuki bu hastalıkların tedavisinde kullanılan ilaçların hem maliyetli hem de pek çok yan etkiye sahip oldukları bilinmektedir. Dolayısıyla bu gibi hastalıkların önlenmesi ve tedavisi amacıyla yağ asitlerince zengin besinler ve zenginleştirilmiş ürünler tüketilebilir.
Omega-3 fatty acids are critical for the growth and development of children, but they are also essential for the health of many organs and systems in adults. There are many scientific studies in which the effects of consuming α-linolenic acid and eicosanoids with anti-inflammatory properties, as well as omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA and EPA, on human health, by maintaining the balance of omega-3 and omega-6, are discussed. It is seen that fatty acids have an important place in the prevention and treatment of many diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, psychiatric diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and major depression, rheumatological diseases and bone diseases, immune system diseases, eye diseases. Moreover, it shows these desired effects in simple and natural ways, with foods, without any significant side effects. However, the drugs used to treat these diseases can cause many side effects and are quite costly. For this reason, foods rich in fatty acids and enriched products can be consumed for healthy living and the prevention and treatment of such diseases.
