Vitamins are organic compounds that must be taken regularly with food for healthy growth, reproduction and other functions and whose deficiencies are associated with various diseases. Classified according to their fat and water solubility, vitamins regulate many reactions in metabolism and act as cofactors of enzymes. Children are very sensitive to microelements as growth increases the need for most trace elements and some organs are at high risk of permanent damage due to deficiency. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months is very important for their growth and development. From the sixth month onwards, complementary foods should be introduced in addition to breast milk due to the increasing nutritional needs of babies. During this period, infants' nutrition should include appropriate amounts of micronutrients. Ensuring a balanced diet in every period of life is important for child health.
