Orthomyxovirus
İnfluenzanın 4 alttipi vardır (A, B, C, D).
The Orthomyxoviridae is a family of negative-polarity RNA viruses. The members of this family are Influenza viruses, Isavirus, Quaranjavirus and Thogotovirus. Influenza viruses are the most epidemiologically important in this family. There are 4 subtypes of influenza (A, B, C, D). Influenza A can causes more severe disease and widespread epidemics than the others. One of the most important characteristics of influenza virus is the frequency of development of antigenic variations as a result of antigenicity changes. Changes in the antigenic structure of the virus lead to infection with new variants in the population at risk with little or no resistance. Vaccination is very important in prevention of this disease.
