Streptokoklar ve Enterokoklar
Özet
Streptokok ve Enterokok cinsleri, çok çeşitli hastalıklara neden olabilen birçok türü içerir. Streptokok ve Enterokok cinsleri, genellikle çiftler veya zincirler halinde düzenlenmiş (Stafilokokların oluşturduğu kümelerin aksine) çeşitli gram pozitif koklardan oluşan bir grup mikroorganizmalardır. Türlerin çoğu fakültatif anaeroblardır ve bazıları yalnızca karbondioksitle zenginleştirilmiş bir atmosferde büyür (kapnofilik büyüme). İzolasyon için kan veya serumla zenginleştirilmiş ortamların kullanılması gerekir. Karbonhidratları fermente ederler ve laktik asit üretimi yaparlar. Stafilokok türlerinin aksine, streptokoklar ve enterokoklar katalaz negatiftir.
