Ev Kazaları: Özellikleri ve Korunma Yolları
Özet
Ev yaralanmaları gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerde hâlen önemli bir halk sağlığı sorunu olarak karşımızda duruyor. Sık görülmesi, ölüm ve sakatlık riskinin yüksek olması, ihmal edilmesi yaralanmalarda üzerinde durulması gereken etkenlerdir. Ev içerisinde veya hemen yakınlarında meydana gelen; trafik, araç ve sporla ilişkisi olmayan kazalar ev kazaları olarak adlandırılır. Güvenli olarak kabul edilen ev ortamındaki kazalar çoğunlukla ihmal edilmekte ve gereken önem verilmemektedir. Bu kazaların büyüklüğü ve sıklığına dair literatür bilgileri maalesef yetersizdir. Dünya genelinde ülkeler ve yaş grupları arasında farklılık olmakla birlikte tüm travmalarda ev kazalarının oranı %25’tir. Ev kazalarının hem küresel bir sağlık problemi olduğu hem de ekonomik açıdan büyük bir yük olduğu ortadadır. Risk grubu olarak evlerde daha çok zaman geçiren çocuklar ve yaşlılar göze çarpmaktadır. Çoğu ev yaralanması basit ve uygun maliyetli stratejilerle önlenebilir. Özellikle çocuklarda ve yaşlılarda ev içi /ev yaralanmalarını azaltmak için sürdürülebilir önleme stratejilerine yönelik bir halk sağlığı politikasına acil ihtiyaç bulunmaktadır.
