Postpartum Dönemde Psikolojik Değişiklikler ve Uyum

Yazarlar

Motherhood is a period of significant psychological changes, including the development of the mother-infant relationship. The perinatal period can be a challenging period for women as well as a pleasant one. The postpartum period, defined as the time following the birth, is a critical stage in a woman's life that requires attention and care due to the significant physiological and psychological changes that occur during this period. The postpartum period is not only a period of physical recovery, but also a time of emotional and psychological adjustment as women adapt to their new role as mothers. The main aim of this chapter is to address psychological changes and adaptation in postpartum period. In this regard, first, the changes in brain structure that occur after pregnancy that are related to psychological health, hormonal adaptations in the postpartum period, emotional, cognitive and psychological changes will be emphasized. Then, the importance and effects of successful interventions in this period will be discussed.
