Dermatomycology
Özet
Dermatology and medical mycology are closely related two medical specialities evolved together in years. In the 19th century this relation established the beginning of dermatomycology. Dermatologists and medical mycologists work in cooperation, especially for the diagnosis of dermatologic disorders caused by fungal agents. Not only the diagnosis, but also the pathogenesis and the follow up of treatment response are common subjects jointed by physicians and basic science specialists. Differential diagnosis of fungal infections of skin, and, if possible, identification of the causative microorganism are the essential steps in dermatology practice.
