Etik ve Sosyal Sorumluluk
Özet
Etik, insanın dahil olduğu, çalıştığı, ürettiği, çeşitli kararlar aldığı ve yaşamını sürdürdüğü her ortamda tartışılan bir kavramdır. Bir yaşam felsefesi olarak, var olmanın gerektirdiği insani yükümlülükleri içermektedir. Bu yükümlükler, bir kuruluşun otoritesini temsil eden yöneticilerden, çalışanlara, kısaca karar ve davranışları ile diğerlerini etkileme potansiyeli taşıyan herkese aittir. Ayrıca, insan yaşamındaki iyi ve doğru olanın ne olduğuna dair evrensel değerlere dayanır. İnsanların ve üyesi oldukları kuruluşların taşıdığı en kapsamlı sorumluluktur ve toplumun geniş kesimlerinin sorunlarına ve beklentilerine duyarlı olmak ve çözüm üretmekle de ilgilidir. Buna ek olarak işletmeler, karar ve stratejilerinde, küresel iklim değişikliği, çevre felaketleri, kıt kaynaklar, kuraklık ve yoksulluk gibi günlük yaşamın merkezine yerleşen sorunları gözetmek zorundadırlar. İş etiğiyle ilgili çağdaş yaklaşımlar, işletmeleri, sürdürülebilir bir çevrenin ve yaşamın inşasındaki en önemli aktörler olarak görür. Bu görüş, işletmelerin varlıklarının, sürdürülebilir bir yaşam ile mümkün olduğunu ve bunun için mevcut politikalara meydan okuyacak, teknoloji yatırımlarından yeni kaynak arayışlarına kadar köklü değişimleri başlatacak bir paradigma değişimine ihtiyaç olduğunu savunur.
Çalışmada her bireyin ve kuruluşun bireysel ve kolektif sorumluluklarının başında gelen etik konusu, işletme yönetimini ve kurumsal sosyal sorumlulukları da içine alacak şekilde incelenecektir. Bölümde ayrıca çevresel etik ve sosyal sorumluluğun bütünleştirici bir çerçevesi olan sürdürülebilirlik ve iş dünyası ele alınacaktır.
