Veterinary surgery has become an important aspect of animal health and welfare. As the quality of health care for domestic and farm animals increases, knowledge and techniques in veterinary surgery need to be updated. This book provides a useful resource for prospective veterinary surgeons and clinicians by covering basic topics such as control of haemorrhage, ligature applications, drainage techniques and dressing/bandaging applications. The chapter focuses on the types of external and internal haemorrhage, treatment methods, drugs used for haemorrhage control, application methods of ligatures, drainage techniques and the importance of dressing/bandage applications.
