Özet
"Merakın İzinde: Okulöncesi Öğretmenlerine Göre Merak Bilme İhtiyacı mı Yoksa Kolektif Bir Değişken mi?" başlıklı bölüm, okulöncesi öğretmenlerinin merak algılarını ve bu önemli kavramı nasıl yorumladıklarını incelemektedir. Öğrenmenin itici gücü olarak kabul edilen merak, bilişsel, psikolojik ve eğitsel literatürde geniş bir araştırma konusu olmuştur. Grossnickle (2016) ve Kidd & Hayden (2015) gibi araştırmacıların çok katmanlı merak tanımları üzerine inşa edilen bu bölüm, okulöncesi öğretmenlerinin tanımlarını, metaforlarını ve sınıfta merakı teşvik etme yöntemlerini analiz etmektedir. Metafor analizi ve fenomenolojik yöntemler kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırma, öğretmenlerin merakı nasıl kavramsallaştırdıkları, öğrencilerin doğal meraklarını nasıl teşvik ettiklerini ve hangi öğretim stratejilerini kullandıklarını anlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bulgular, öğretmenlerin merakı hem bir bilgi edinme ihtiyacı olarak gördüklerini hem de yaratıcılık, yenilik ve keşifle bağlantılı kolektif bir değişken olarak ele aldıklarını ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca, okulöncesi öğretmenlerin merak olgusuna ilişkin farkındalıklarının artırılması ve bu konudaki bilgi düzeylerinin derinleştirilmesi gerekliliği de ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bölüm, hem hizmet öncesi hem de hizmet içi öğretmen eğitimi programlarının öğretmenlerin merakla ilgili kavram şemalarının ve eğitsel deneyimlerinin zenginleştirilmesinin önemini vurgulamaktadır.
