Endodontik Tedavide Rubber Dam Kullanımı

Özet

Diş hekimliğinde başarılı bir tedavi yapmak için çalışma alanının izolasyonu oldukça önemlidir. Rubber dam ile izolasyon diş hekimliği pratiğinde oldukça sık kullanılan bir yöntemdir. Endodontik tedavilerde temel hedef enfeksiyonu önlemek veya ortadan kaldırmak olduğundan dolayı rubber dam kök kanal tedavisinin vazgeçilemez bir parçası haline gelmiştir. Ayrıca irrigasyon solüsyonlarının ve kök kanal aletlerinin yutulmasını önleme, kuru bir çalışma ortamı sağlama, ağız içi yumuşak dokuları koruma, bulantı refleksini azaltma ve amalgam dolguların kaldırılırken açığa çıkan civa salınımını azaltması gibi avantajları da bulunmaktadır. Rubber dam temelde beş parçadan oluşmaktadır. Bunlar; klemp, lastik örtü, delici, forseps ve çerçevedir. Bu parçalar çeşitli firmalar tarafından farklı tip, renk ve materyaller olarak üretilmektedir. Rubber dam'in dişe uygulanması için çok çeşitli teknikler bulunmaktadır. Uygun tekniğin seçilmesi ve lastik örtünün kullanılmasıyla, klinisyenler kök kanal tedavisinde izolasyonu, başarıyı ve en önemlisi güvenliği önemli ölçüde artırabilirler.

In order to perform a successful treatment in dentistry, isolation of the working area is very important. Isolation with rubber dam is a method used quite frequently in dentistry practice. Since the main goal in endodontic treatments is to prevent or eliminate infection, rubber dam has become an indispensable part of root canal treatment. Additionally, rubber dam isolation offers several advantages, including the prevention of the ingestion of irrigation solutions and root canal instruments, ensuring a dry working environment, protecting the oral soft tissues, reducing the gag reflex, and minimizing the release of mercury vapor when removing amalgam fillings. Rubber dam basically consists of five parts. These are; clamp, rubber dam sheet, punch, forceps and frame. These parts are produced by various companies in different types, colors and materials. There are many different techniques for applying rubber dam to the tooth. By selecting the appropriate technique and using a rubber dam, clinicians can significantly enhance isolation, success, and most importantly, safety in root canal treatment.
