Özet

Oral kavite ve orofasiyal bölge birçok fizyolojik süreçte rol oynamakta olup başlıca gastrointestinal, hematolojik, endokrinolojik, otoimmün ve solunum sistemini etkileyen sistemik hastalıklar, enfektif patolojiler ve sistemik tedaviler gibi etiyolojik faktörlerle yakından ilişkilidir. Oral bölgede spesifik bulguları olan sistemik faktörler olabilmekte ve bu spesifik bulgular gerek tanı gerek de tedavi aşamalarında önemli rol oynamaktadır. Nonspesifik bulguları olan sistemik faktörlerde ayırıcı tanılar önemli olup oral bölge bulguları tanısal aşamada yol gösterici olabilmektedir. Oral bölgede genellikle sık ve belirgin olarak saptanabilen bulgulara yol açan sistemik hastalık ve tedaviler bu başlık altında değerlendirilmiş ve ilişkilendirilmiştir.

The oral cavity and orofacial region play a role in many physiological processes and are closely associated with etiologic factors such as systemic diseases affecting the gastrointestinal, hematologic, endocrinologic, autoimmune and respiratory systems, infective pathologies and systemic therapies. There may be systemic factors with specific findings in the oral region and these specific findings play an important role in both diagnosis and treatment. Differential diagnoses are important in systemic factors with nonspecific findings and oral findings may be guiding at the diagnostic stage. Systemic diseases and treatments that cause frequent and prominent findings in the oral region are evaluated and related under this title.
