Oral Liken Planus
Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) is an inflammatory disease characterized by mucosal involvement. Clinical presentation includes various lesions such as reticular, erosive, atrophic, and plaque-like. Diagnosis is based on patient history, physical examination, and histological findings, with exclusion of other diseases being crucial. Treatment aims at symptom control and reducing the risk of malignant transformation. Various therapies like corticosteroids, calcineurin inhibitors, immunosuppressants, and biological agents are utilized. Treatment selection depends on the severity of symptoms, patient's overall condition, and potential side effects. Regular monitoring of patients and symptom management are essential during the treatment process. Managing OLP requires a multidisciplinary approach and should be personalized according to individual patient characteristics.
