There have been surgical interventions since the beginning of humanity. Surgical; It is a branch of medicine that is considered as planned anatomical changes that are made to stop, or alleviate pathological events occurring in the human organism, or to eliminate the problem by removing some parts. Surgical nursing is a specialized field of nursing that focuses on providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Surgical nursing, which can also be defined as perioperative nursing, includes patient care before, during, and after surgery. Their professional roles and responsibilities include collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of patients throughout the surgical process. Surgical patient population: They may have different characteristics, health conditions, comorbidities, and surgical indications, and they require individualized and specific approaches for perioperative care to meet all these special needs.
Surgical interventions, one of the cornerstones of modern healthcare, cover a wide range of methods aimed at diagnosing, treating, or managing medical conditions through invasive techniques. With its rich historical heritage and continued advances in surgical techniques, anesthesia, and perioperative care, surgical practices continue to play an important role in improving patient outcomes and enhancing quality of life.
