Müzeler ve İyilik Hali
Özet
Müze ve sağlık kavramlarının birlikte bulunduğu ve 1938 yılında yayımlanan ilk yayınlardan “An American Museum of Health” makalesinde Amerika’daki sağlık müzelerinin halk sağlığı eğitimi ve sağlığın geliştirilmesindeki rolüne değinilmiştir. Müzeler zamanla salt eser sergileme fonksiyonunun ötesine geçmiştir. Bu değişimde geniş insan kitlelerini ilgilendiren sağlık kavramı öne çıkmış, sadece sağlık müzeleri değil, müzede sağlık ile eşleşen iyilik halinin kazanılmasına odaklanılan araştırma ve programlar tasarlanmıştır. 2000’li yıllardan itibaren bulaşıcı olmayan salgına dönüşen kanser hastalıklarında; müzelerin hastanelerde veya hastaların müze atölyelerindeki çalışmalarında; hastalardaki destekleyici, psikolojik olarak güçlendirici ve kanser tedavilerine uyumlarını arttırıcı yanıtlar rapor edilmiştir.
Sanat terapisi konunun bir diğer boyutudur. Müzelerde yürütülen sanat atölyeleri; örneğin kanserli hastaların duygu ve düşüncelerini sanat çalışmaları ile ifade etmelerini kolaylaştırıcıdır. Beyin etkilenimi olan hastalarda, etkilenen beyin fonksiyonlarına rağmen çizme, boyama gibi beynin diğer işlevlerinin kullanılması ile hastalarda yeni yetenekler ortaya çıkmaktadır. Müzeler günümüzde her yaştan sağlıklı ziyaretçilerin yanı sıra kronik hastalarda da iyilik halini desteklemek üzere yaratıcı araçlar sunmaktadır. Günümüzde müze tür ve koleksiyonlarının çok çeşitlenerek terapötik açıdan sanat ve sağlık / sanayi sektörlerini birleştiren iyi uygulama örnekleri önemli, etkin ve toplumsal yarar oluşturan yaklaşımlar olarak gelişimini sürdürmektedir.
