Anne Sütü ve Emzirme
Özet
Emizrmenin ve anne sütünün bebek beslenmesinde kullanımı bebeklere, annelere ve ailelere ve topluma çeşitli ve önemli avantajlar sağlamaktadır. Bunlar sağlık, beslenme, immünolojik, gelişimsel psikolojik, sosyal, ekonomik ve çevresel faydaları olarak sayılabilir. Her bebek için kendi annesinin sütü idealdir. Her bebeğe özel bileşimde salgılanan anne sütü, bebeğin en iyi şekilde büyümesini ve gelişmesini desteklerken, anne ve bebekte çeşitli akut ve kronik hastalık riskini azaltmaktadır. Bebeklik döneminde emzirmenin faydaları yetişkinliğe kadar devam ettiği, aynı zamanda emzirmenin, emziren annenin sağlığını da olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Amerikan Pediatri Akademisi (AAP), doğumdan sonra yaklaşık 6 ay boyunca yalnızca emzirmeyi önermektedir. Ayrıca AAP, 6. ayda verilen uygun tamamlayıcı gıdaların yanı sıra emzirmeye 2 yıl veya daha fazla devam edilmesi gerektiğini desteklemektedir. Bu öneriler Dünya Sağlık Örgütü'nün (WHO) önerileriyle tutarlıdır.
Sonuç olarak, anne sütü ve emzirme, bebeklerin sağlıklı büyümesi ve gelişimi için önemli olup, desteklenmesi gereken bir beslenme ve bakım yöntemidir.
